Hours per week: 40, eligible for benefits
Shift: Business hours - M-F with some weekend and off shift coverage as needed.

Children's Hospital Colorado's Heart Institute is nationally ranked for heart care and surgery by U.S. News & World Report (#6), treating patients from across the country. Here, over 70 cardiac faculty and 250 cardiac staff work together to provide care for all kinds of congenital and acquired heart diseases. As a leader in pediatric heart care, our institute is the largest in the region, treating over 20,000 patients each year, with over 600 surgeries, 900+ cardiac cath lab procedures, and 5,000+ ICU days per year. Because we're dedicated to training tomorrowís leaders, our heart fellowship program has educated more than 100 pediatric cardiologists who are changing the lives of children with heart disease across the country. We offer our patients comprehensive care and treatment for both congenital and acquired cardiac conditions before birth, during infancy, childhood, adolescence, and into adulthood. The Director of Patient Care Services (Heart Institute) provides clinical and operational leadership and support for cardiac services offered at Childrenís Hospital Colorado. This includes oversight for the staff and space in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Progressive Care Unit, Outpatient Clinic, ORs/Catheterization Laboratory, Non-Invasive Laboratory, Exercise Laboratory, and all of the programs and services delivered to these patient populations. The Directorís focus is to ensure high quality care coordination and oversee operational systems in support of strategic plan and annual goals in the areas of clinical care, research, education, and advocacy. The Director reports directly to the VP Critical Care Services/Associate Chief Nursing Officer with a dotted line reporting to the Executive Director of the Heart Institute. This position works collaboratively with Medical Directors and other Clinical & Administrative leaders across the organization.

Position type: Full-time

Qualifications: Education: Masterís degree in Nursing or a directly related health care field is required.

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience in addition to a minimum of three (3) years of nursing leadership experience. Previous cardiac experience strongly preferred.

Certification(s): Certification as a Nurse Executive or Nurse Executive, Advanced is required within two (2) years of hire is required.

Licensure(s): Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Colorado at the time of hire is required.
