Description: Registered Nurse - Critical Care Team
We are looking for compassionate, team-focused nurses to join our amazing Critical Care Team!

As a Registered Nurse (RN) in this specialty area of nursing you are responsible for evaluating, planning, implementing, and documenting nursing care for an assigned patient population. In this job you will assist physician during examinations and procedures. As an RN you will perform various patient tests and administer medications within the scope of practice of the registered nurse. Additionally, you will promote patient's independence by establishing patient care goals and teaching patient and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills.

Critical Care Highlights

• ICU (13 beds) and CICU (13 beds) for a combined unit total of 26 patient beds
• 2 Heart Surgeons with privileges and collaborating Intensivists
• Very busy Cath Lab
• Staffing 1:1 – post-op open hearts, IABP (balloon pump, CRRT, Therapeutic Hypothermia) with over 350+ heart surgeries per year
• Use of progressive industry technology such as CRRT, Centrimag, Impella, TAVR, ECMO

Position type: Full-time

Qualifications: Minimum Qualifications:

• Graduate of a nationally accredited Nursing program required.
• All non-BSN RN's hired after 1/1/2015 at Kootenai Health are required to be enrolled in a baccalaureate (or higher) degree program in nursing upon hire, and show evidence of enrollment prior to their start date with a mandatory completion date based on date of hire.
• Hired prior to 1/1/2015 BSN is recommended but not required.
• Hired between 1/1/2015 and 12/31/2018 BSN completed by December 31, 2020.
• Hired after 1/1/2019 BSN completed within two years of hire.
• State of Idaho Registered Nurse OR licensure pending as documented by temporary licensure OR current RN licensure from a state participating in the "multistate privilege to practice" compact with Idaho prior to start date.
• BLS required.
• ACLS required.
• CCRN or CNOR preferred.
• A minimum of 1-year experience in Critical Care. Will consider previous experience in Emergency, Flight Nursing, or PCU.
