Description: Assistant/Associate Professor-School of Nursing-Graduate Nursing Program
Position Summary:

Applications are invited for a tenure-track position of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Graduate Nursing Program beginning August, 2020.

The School of Nursing is housed in a state-of-the-art technology building that includes smart classrooms and five simulation labs - virtual hospital lab, graduate health lab, critical care lab, maternal child lab, and assessment lab. The program offers a traditional BSN, online RN/BSN, and Graduate Nursing programs.

The Graduate Nursing program at APSU prepares graduates to make significant contributions to the overall improvement of health and to meet essential professional practice standards in a variety of settings. There are two graduate nursing programs: Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Concentration and Nurse Educator (NE).

Both the FNP and NE concentrations are flexible and designed to meet the needs of Registered Nurses in various stages of their careers. All graduate nursing classes are primarily delivered in an online format. Students in both concentrations have the option to enroll in full-time or extended plans of study.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications: Required Qualifications:

- Doctorate in nursing or related field
- National certification/advanced practice registered nurse licensure in Tennessee
- Masters in Nursing with major in clinical area required
- Unencumbered Registered Nurse Licensure in Tennessee
- Three (3) years of clinical experience
- A background search will be required of the successful applicant.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Teaching experience in area of simulation and skills lab
- Documented evidence of sustained high quality professional productivity and national recognition in the academic discipline or sustained high quality professional productivity in the academic discipline that is consonant with the goals of the University and of the academic unit to which the faculty member belongs.
