Description: Nursing Faculty - Nursing Simulation and Skills Lab
The nursing faculty member is a full-time, annually contracted faculty position. Primarily responsible for teaching and evaluation of student learning and coordination of clinical curricular activities in the nursing Skills Lab and Simulation Lab. Works with the Lead Faculty as part of the nursing faculty team for curriculum development, implementation, and revision.

Manage onsite clinical nursing activities within Simulation and Clinical Skills Labs:
Coordinate learning activities in the nursing clinical skills lab including scheduling, set-up and take-down of lab activities, in collaboration with the clinical faculty and Simulation Tech.
Provide evidence-based clinical education and evaluation for students during nursing skills lab sessions.
Provide mentoring to faculty in the clinical Lab or Simulation setting.
Provide evidence-based clinical education and evaluation for students during low, medium and high fidelity simulation.
Substitute for off-site clinical faculty as needed.

Serve as clinical resource for Lab and Simulation compliance:
Adhere to CCNE and Concordia University standards.
Assist with the development and enforcement of clinical Lab and Simulation policies and procedures.
Research, evaluate, and recommend new educational modalities, equipment and supplies, as requested.

Maintain clinical skills lab through coordination with the Simulation Tech and according to CU Nursing and Orbis protocols:
Ensure that lab is clean, safe, and organized.
Promote safe lab practices.
Coordinate maintenance and repair of clinical equipment.
Ensure Simulation equipment is maintained by all who use the equipment, as stewards of this resource.
Oversee quarterly equipment inventories
Ensure maintenance of par levels of clinical lab supplies.

Faculty Responsibilities:
Facilitate student learning, provide effective instruction, and perform evaluations of student learning.
Meet all classes and other scheduled nursing responsibilities such as office hours and meetings at the designated times.
Keep a flexible weekly schedule that best facilitates student learning and access. Any changes in the scheduled class or exam times or locations should be coordinated with all faculty for that course and have prior approval by the Assistant or Associate Dean of Nursing.
Attend local, regional, state, or national meetings where required or necessary for maintaining clinical expertise in evidence-based Simulation education.
Attend departmental and university-wide meetings customary for the university or as required by supervisor.
Attend commencement or other university ceremonies or events appropriate to the faculty memberís discipline or program.
Serve as an active participant in nursing committees and in faculty mentoring opportunities.
Pursue the improvement of teaching and learning and the evaluation of their effectiveness in every segment of the School of Nursing

Position type: Full-time

Masterís degree in Nursing.
Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Oregon
5+ yearsí clinical experience and expertise in direct patient care.
Basic knowledge of and experience working with low, medium and high-fidelity patient simulators. Laerdal products preferred.
National certification in Simulation preferred.
Demonstrated teaching experience.
