Description: Clinical Nurse II- Intensive Care Unit
The Clinical Nurse has the responsibility, accountability, and the authority to deliver safe, effective, quality, excellent nursing care according to the philosophy and goals/objectives of the Department of Nursing. Utilizing the Jean Watson’s Theory of Caring, the Relationship Based Care, and the NorthBay’s professional nursing practice model assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for all patients assigned to his/her care. Makes determinations regarding the progress of the patient toward goals and utilizes a therapeutic professional relationship with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team to facilitate the promotion, maintenance, and restoration of health. Care is provided according to the specific physiologic, developmental and psycho-social needs of the patient.

Qualifications: Education:

1. Graduate from an accredited school of professional registered nursing.
2. BSN required by January 1, 2020

Licensure and Certifications:

1. Valid, current and unencumbered California RN license
2. Current BLS and ACLS required.

Experience, Knowledge, and Skills:

1. One year acute care RN experience within the last three years required.
2. ICU experience highly preferred.
3. Demonstrates competence including but not limited to: arrhythmia interpretation, advanced patient assessment, advanced airway management and ventilator care.
4. Proficient written, verbal, and electronic communication skills in the English language.
5. Modifies and delivers care that is specific to the special behaviors/needs of the adolescent, adult and geriatric patient within the scope of service of the Intensive Care Unit.
