Description: Faculty - Nursing, Adult Gerontological Acute Care NP Program
The Graduate Nursing Department at Misericordia University, located in Dallas, PA, is currently accepting applications for a full-time (12 month) faculty position to develop and direct an Adult Gerontological Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program. Position to begin immediately. Rank, tenure-track status, and salary are dependent upon the applicant’s experience and qualifications. The position also includes a release for clinical practice responsibilities as an AGAC-NP within the Geisinger Northeast Health Care System.

The Misericordia University Nursing Departments’ fully accredited programs include a traditional BSN, Part-time Accelerated evening BSN, Expressway RN to BSN, and a Master’s FNP program in a newly renovated College of Health Sciences building. A fully online Doctor of Nursing Practice program is also offered.

Misericordia is a teaching centered institution with a commitment to community service. Successful candidates will join an experienced faculty with diverse clinical and educational backgrounds.

Responsibilities include development and direction an adult gerontologic acute care nurse practitioner and teaching in graduate programs, active participation in scholarly activities, student recruitment and advisement, and service to the University, community, and profession and ongoing clinical practices as AGAC-NP.

Qualifications: Qualifications:

•Earned doctorate (PhD, EdD, DNP) in nursing or related health care field from an accredited institution with MSN degree or post-master’s certificate as an adult gerontological acute care nurse practitioner.

•Current unencumbered Pennsylvania Registered Nurse and CRNP licenses with current national board certification as an adult gerontological acute care nurse practitioner.

•Teaching experience at the graduate level, and in non-traditional/online formats, preferred.

•Experience overseeing graduate students in clinical practice settings preferred.
