Description: Nurse Practitioner MICU
The Section of Critical Care in the Department of Medicine at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center is seeking a licensed Nurse Practitioner to partner with multidisciplinary Critical Care physicians and an established associate provider team as they care for medical patients admitted to the intensive care unit. The Nurse Practitioner will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of physicians, advanced practitioners, nurses, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, physical therapists and other specialties in the Medical Intensive Care Unit. The Nurse Practitioner should be willing to work in a fast paced and collaborative environment and will have a strong interest in the longitudinal care of critically ill medical patients.

The primary responsibility of the Nurse Practitioner is the direct application of clinical expertise to patients and families being managed in a tertiary care teaching medical center, including responsibility for maintaining quality of care standards for all procedures performed and all clinical care provided in the critical care setting.

The Nurse Practitioner will be fully integrated into the ongoing functions of the Medical ICU, such as research projects, teaching rounds, quality improvement projects and resident and student education. Experience in Critical Care or an interest and exposure to Critical Care during clinical rotations is required for the position.

This is a full-time, salaried, benefited position. Schedule is day and night rotating weekend and holiday coverage.

Qualifications: Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
NCCPA certification or board certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) or American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
Eligible for APRN licensure in the State of New Hampshire.
Eligible for Federal DEA Registration.
