The University of Utah, College of Nursing is seeking a qualified Certified Nurse Midwife for an administrative faculty appointment as a specialty director. This position will combine leadership, teaching, scholarship, and faculty practice in the Nurse Midwifery track of the Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Specialty Track Director serves as a full-time faculty member in the tenure line or career line and provides leadership for nurse midwifery faculty and DNP students to assure students attain specialty track and DNP program outcomes. Working collaboratively with other DNP Specialty Track Directors, responsibilities include planning, implementing, and evaluating specialty-specific curricula, recruiting and advising students, including their admission and progression, and providing oversight of clinical placements. The Specialty Track Director complies with specialty accreditation and reporting requirements, including verification and certification. As appropriate, the Specialty Track Director submits grants to obtain additional support for specialty track development and innovation. In collaboration with other administrators in the college, the Specialty Track Director facilitates nurse midwifery faculty development, participates in faculty evaluation and governance, leads and participates in administrative meetings, and serves as a resource and mentor to other faculty and graduate students.

Reporting Relationships: Individual will report directly to both the Assistant Dean for the Masterís and DNP Programs in the administrative role and the Division Chair of Health Systems and Community-Based Care in the faculty role.

Qualifications: Graduate preparation from an accredited school of Nurse Midwifery (required). Doctoral preparation (DNP or PhD) required. Requirements include: certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM; Utah State CNM Licensure and prescriptive authority; and one or more years of full scope Nurse Midwifery experience and Basic Cardiac Life Support. Academic experience, leadership and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively with other members of the health care and academic teams are essential. A record of teaching, scholarly productivity, and service is required. A program of research is compatible with this position, although not required.
