Description: Registered Nurse Triage Coordinator Days
The Coordinator Transfer RN is a Registered Nurse who facilitates the transfer of patients to and within Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH). The primary purpose is to facilitate physicians/consumers access to BSWH hospitals and physicians through the Transfer Center. The RN has accountability for providing excellent customer service which will result in enhanced customer satisfaction.

The Coordinator Transfer RN ensures documentation is concise and meets standards; assures processing of Transfer Center calls; oversees and supports work of the Transfer Center Room Control Coordinator; facilitates transfer to all BSWH hospitals in an unbiased, standardized manner; facilitates coordination of transfer with physicians, staff RNs, and others while meeting state and federal regulations (COBRA/EMTALA); addresses concerns immediately to report issues consistent with the issue resolution standards and participates in performance improvement activities.

The Coordinator Transfer RN maintains confidentiality; develops relationships with internal and external customers; provides follow up; assumes personal responsibility for raising referring physician customer satisfaction; monitors call wait times and assists all team member to identify strategies which promote short wait times and efficiency; seeks creative ways to improve current processes and meets productivity standards without compromising quality.

The ideal Coordinator Transfer RN candidate will have the ability to project a friendly helpful image over the phone; strong clinical assessment skill; working knowledge of applicable regulatory rules and requirements; ability to ask questions and provide disposition recommendation. The ideal candidate will have exceptional problem solving skills; ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse members of the health care team; ability to communicate effectively and concisely and use clinical and organization skills to assist BSWH grown market share and enhance/maintain reputation in outlying communities.
