Department Manager Leader
• Labor and Delivery, Full-time – Job #642723

In this role, you will manage a 24-hour department providing patient care services. You will ensure that the staff provides high quality, accessible, cost effective care, and patient focused services to members across the continuum, which comply with local, state, and federal requirements. In addition, you will develop and maintain clinical standards of care and practice and will be responsible for all resource budgeting, selection, and development.

Qualifications include:
• At least five years of nursing experience in both patient care and management/leadership roles
• At least four years of previous supervisory experience
• A graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• A BSN or BA in a health care related field strongly preferred; a master’s degree is preferred
• A current California RN license
• BLS certification
• Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other local, state, and federal regulations
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal communication skills
• The ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment

In this role, you will manage the activities of the unit and monitor quality, service, and utilization standards. You will supervise the day-to-day shift activities.

Qualifications Include:
• A BSN or bachelor’s degree in a health care related field preferred
• A graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• A current California RN license
• A current BLS certification
• PALS certification may be required for positions in specific departments
• ALCS certification strongly preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement, clinical care delivery processes, staffing, and budgeting
• Knowledge of the Nursing Practice Act, The Joint Commission, and other federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• The ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment
