Description: RN Trauma Coordinator Day Job
The Trauma Coordinator coordinates and provides nursing care including the assessment, teaching and treatment of trauma patients. The Trauma Coordinator provides leadership for ancillary staff performing physician delegated medical tasks. The Trauma Coordinator performs and documents assessments of patients as indicated and within established procedures. The Trauma Coordinator implements age appropriate care based on nursing assessment and medical plan of care. The Trauma Coordinator provides effective patient/family teaching based on individualized learning needs to include discharge instructions. The Trauma Coordinator provides accurate evaluation of patient response to plan of care as appropriate. The Trauma Coordinator performs necessary data extraction for the Trauma Registry adhering to all established policies and procedures. The Trauma Coordinator participates in Regional Advisory Council (RAC) and GETAC.
The ideal candidate for the Trauma Coordinator role will participate in education, research and performance improvement activities. The ideal candidate for the Trauma Coordinator role will also perform other position appropriate duties as required in a competent, professional and courteous manner.

Qualifications: • Completion of an Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) course or Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year• Associate’s Degree

• Licensed Registered Nurse (RN)

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

• Emergency Nursing Pediatric (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 1 year

• Completion of an Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) course or Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) within 1 year
